As demonstrated by the 1947 Partition of India, spawning Pakistan and Bangladesh in 1971 this approach can be fraught with internecine trouble with a nasty tendency to linger forever.
I think it is time for a democratic solution to the “Palestinian Conflict” where religious differences are ignored and everyone has a vote. Let’s acknowledge that Jews and Arabs can both claim indigeneity to Israeli/Palestinian lands. Yes there is academic discussion about who was there thousands versus hundreds of years, but we have an unsustainable standoff that has to be resolved.
The physical and social walls must come down. Israel has done amazing things in a hostile environment and the Palestinians can offer high literacy and youthful energy.
Everyone becomes a citizen of a united and dynamic new Israel.
