The Emiratis along with the Saudis pretend to be a force for stability in Yemen and like to publicize their charitable donations to the country, while dismissing reports of their role in unlawful detention practices as “fake news”. Human rights groups have reported torture and other abuses in UAE controlled prisons in southern Yemen.
